Daddy and the Twerp have been talking about going ice skating but due to the bad weather, it kept on getting postponed. Well, they finally did it last week. Daddy was proud of his little girl, saying that she was a natural.

I was so jealous I didn't get to go with them because I had to work. Thanks to this video, I got to see Via ice skating. I've never tried ice skating and I wanted to try so bad. I got my wish. We went ice skating yesterday. It was hard at first. The ice was very slippery. After a while I got the hang of it. It's a lot like roller skating which I did a lot of when I was younger. I also have a video ;-) but couldn't get it from Daddy's blackberry. I have photos though :)

Ice Skating at MOA (Mall of Asia) entrance including skates (unlimited): P300/person.

I don't know how to ice skate but some of my kids have gone ice skating and love it. Me? I don't know if I'll try it.

Jellybelly,  August 17, 2012 at 2:08 AM

Try it! Try it!

GeriLen ELinessete August 17, 2012 at 4:04 AM

Krizza August 17, 2012 at 9:18 AM

This is one fun activity that our family haven't tried yet! Wish we could get the experience one day. :)

Jellybelly,  August 17, 2012 at 4:41 PM

You can learn there. They have an instructor.

I love ice skating (even if I am no pro at it! hahaha!) and I miss it, too. I only know how to "kinda" ice skate because I know hot to use roller blades.

My little princess has been bugging me to take her ice skating since we had a dvd-marathon of Barbie movies. Barbie was skating in several movies and she was absolutely thrilled watching her.

When the skating rink in Megamall was quite new, I had wanted to try it out. I actually wanted to sign up for classes. It didn't happen though. I wonder if your little girl will show more interest in it

Saw your Coron posts. Looks like your had real fun though the weather was quite gloomy. Haven't been there but hope to go in the near future :)

My 5 year old daughter wanna try ice skating as well. Looks fun and exciting.

I always wanted to try ice skating. Shy pa ako. hehe

Filman Santiago August 19, 2012 at 12:23 PM

I am not a good skater but I can skate and the way I see your daughter skating is like, she's better than me. Let's say 1 to 10 then 10 as the expert skater? I can say I am at number 2 and your daughter is at number 6. :) Nice get together! Literally and hypothetically cool! :)

Jellybelly,  August 19, 2012 at 6:42 PM

I never tried the skating in Megamall. Now that I tried in MOA, I like it. Too bad there's no skating rink in Megamall now.

Jellybelly,  August 19, 2012 at 6:43 PM

Yes, knowing how to roller skate helps :)

lina August 19, 2012 at 9:09 PM

How fun!

A great activity for the whole family there. :)

Via must be enjoying every minute of it. :)

Jellybelly,  August 19, 2012 at 9:32 PM

She sure did :)

Jellybelly,  August 19, 2012 at 9:34 PM

Yep, my little girl wants to do what Barbie does too including surfing and other things :)

rochelle August 21, 2012 at 5:51 PM

inngit naman ako kay via...
i really, really want to try ice skating

Mommy Maye August 22, 2012 at 10:43 PM

I also want to try this ice skating. Hopefully when my son gets a little older. I have watched ice skaters at MOA and it seems it is just easy with them. It looked like they are so light and it's beautiful like birds flying.

Daddy Allan August 22, 2012 at 11:40 PM

I want to try this one too but I am afraid to fall. hehehe

Ice skating is so cool (no pun intended hehe)...It's one of those things I'd like to try.

Mylene August 23, 2012 at 4:07 AM

This kind of activity is easier learned by kids than adults.

Spanish Pinay August 23, 2012 at 4:17 AM

ang saya naman! I love ice skating din.. I learned a bit when I was in Chicago.. pero hindi naman naituloy kaya eto back to zero hehe... kahit roller blades hindi ako marunong.

That's really cool going ice-skating with your kid. I have yet to try doing that with my kids.

Lalah August 23, 2012 at 4:29 PM

Me and my elder brother used to Iceskate every Saturday. We were so sad when they closed the rink at SM Cebu. I kinda miss it and hope that my Sophia can try it out too.

Jellybelly,  August 23, 2012 at 9:20 PM

It was kinda fun although I was hesitant at first. My great fear was falling down and some skater would run over my fingers and cut them off.

Jellybelly,  August 23, 2012 at 9:24 PM

Yes there was a little girl who skated so well. It was so nice to watch.

promding chamimay August 24, 2012 at 6:15 AM

i wanna learn this too!!! :-)

I was instantly reminded of the first time I tried ice skating at Megamall. I fell and never repeated it! hahaha!

Jhari August 24, 2012 at 5:20 PM

Ang saya mag Ice skate. When I was still young, my dad never brought me to these kind of leisure. Borring ang tatay ko eh. Hehehe!

Visiting from CE Aug21.

Jellybelly,  August 24, 2012 at 7:11 PM

Yes, falling can be a bad experience. A friend's husband fell and broke his arm. It traumatized their kids and they never tried ice skating.

Khim August 25, 2012 at 6:28 AM

I envy you a lot. How I wish there is an ice skating rink here in Cebu. I want to try that.

Farida August 29, 2012 at 10:58 PM

That ice skating activity is also a good means of family bonding. Glad you were able to try and enjoy the company of your family too :)

verna,  September 1, 2012 at 12:09 PM

Although it triggers some bittersweet memories, I LOVE ICE SKATING! Haha. My late aunt used to take us ice skating before. The rink makes me miss her even more. But nonetheless, ice skating's great.
Btw, how old is your daughter? My daughter's five, and the last time we were there for skating, she was four, and wasn't allowed to skate because they didn't have shoes her size.

Jellybelly,  September 1, 2012 at 11:53 PM

My daughter is 3 and a half. I dunno if the skates fit her well but they were the smallest. It was fun.
